Mentors Luncheon & Career Symposium
As part of the Future Financial Professionals Pipeline initiative to increase diversity in the financial services sector, NASP holds the Mentors Luncheon & Career Symposium for diverse undergraduate students interested in finance, business, and the related fields. The Symposium provides students with internship and career resources from corporate recruiting teams as well as networking opportunities with NASP professionals to help nurture their growth.

The 2017 event was held in March at headquarters of Citi in New York City. The Symposium provided students with internship and career resources from corporate recruiting teams, professional development workshops as well as networking opportunities with investment professionals.
Undergraduate students from Brooklyn College, Baruch College, Bowie State University, Florida A&M University, North Carolina Central University, Penn State University, Rutgers University, Temple University and others attended. The Mentors Luncheon & Career Symposium is open to undergraduate college students studying finance, business, economics, marketing, accounting and students studying other fields with a strong interest in a career in the financial services industry. The event has reached over 800 students since inception. The event:
NASP held the first Mentors Luncheon in 1998 in Washington D.C. and over the years in New York City, Chicago, and Philadelphia. We are back in New York City this year due to a partnership with UBS and look forward to providing students resources and networking opportunities to nurture their growth and increase diversity in the financial services sector.
- Exposes students to a variety of roles within the industry from diverse representation from large firms, emerging and minority- and women-owned firms, as well as the public sector.
- Provides students an opportunity to hear from professionals who encourage their success through candid panel discussions.
- Teaches early professional development through workshops and information sessions.
- Provides students with career and internship resources through an on-site recruitment exhibition.
