CONCURRENT WORKSHOPS - Session 4
4A. A Fresh Look at Asset Allocation and the Implications of a Changed Financial Landscape (Grand Ballroom C)
Plan sponsors have lost nearly 40% of their market values. Consequently, asset allocations no longer reflect the policy targets that were crafted to guide plans toward their actuarial assumptions. How do we efficiently and economically address this misalignment? Is it prudent to rebalance in a “directionless” market? Does the need to rebalance justify the potential material cost and is there a “best” asset allocation for the next 12 months?
Does behavior—fear, ego and greed—factor into the equation? We will examine this new paradigm, looking specifically at how we prevent asset class correlations from moving closer to one.

4B. The New Frontier: Green Sustainable Investing, Carbon Credits and Infrastructure (Grand Ballroom D)
The magnitude of the need for green sustainable investing, carbon emissions reduction, and the development and redevelopment of infrastructure has been constrained by the ability of governments to fund the expansion of going green and infrastructure development. As a result, there is an opportunity for private investors to play a
substantial role in both financing and developing these three strategic investment imperatives. We cannot ignore the social, economic and investment implications this will have on the markets. These three areas could have the greatest impact on creating jobs and legitimizing the recovery.
